The Tacoma Food Collective is Align’s project consisting of a collective of diverse food businesses that work together to foster economic growth and environmental sustainability. The Food Collective was created by Align as an example of collaborative relationships championing innovative business partnerships that elevate the sustainable food community.
Align engaged in this project to assist the anchor tenants – a commissary kitchen, farm hub, hydroponic farm and marketplace – to grow in a way that they could not on their own. Also, this project is an example of Align’s passion for having a positive economic and social impact on the community. We believe that education and exposure to eating a diet rich in organic, healthy food should be accessible to all corners of our community.
We believe our community driven business models and collaborative relationships create a synergy that elevates the whole. This collective will create a food catalyst that spurs economic growth and addresses public health inequality. It will further serve as an educational resource for students and the community at large.
